FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is polymer clay?

Polymer clay is a lightweight, durable, and flexible material once baked. It’s perfect for statement jewellery that’s comfortable to wear all day. Each piece is hand-mixed, shaped, and cured in our studio, making every pair of earrings truly one-of-a-kind.

What are your earring findings made from?

Made from surgical stainless steel (316L) & (304L) and gold-plated, these findings cater to those with sensitive ears. We select high-quality findings for comfort, durability, and a polished finish.

Are your earrings hypoallergenic?

Hypoallergenic - Yes. All of our findings are hypoallergenic. The grade of material used minimises the likelihood of an allergic reaction. Different people will have different metal sensitivities, but our findings are generally great for people with sensitive ears.

Do you offer shipping?

Yes! We ship Australia-wide and internationally.

Orders are shipped via tracked parcel post

Please allow 1–5 business days for dispatch (as each piece is handmade)

Are polymer clay earrings waterproof?

While polymer clay itself is water-resistant, we recommend removing your earrings before swimming or showering to prolong the life of the findings and finishes.

Looking After Your Ebb & Clay Jewellery

Each Ebb & Clay piece is thoughtfully handcrafted using polymer clay, premium clear resin, and gold-plated stainless steel findings. With a little care, your jewellery will stay beautiful for years to come.

General care

  • Store your jewellery in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, yellowing, or discolouration.
  • Keep pieces in their box or a soft pouch to avoid scratches.
  • Always remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising.

Caring for resin-coated pieces

  • Our crystal-clear resin coating enhances colour vibrancy, adds a glossy finish, and protects against minor scratches.
  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or marks.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent yellowing.
  • Keep away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cleaning products, as these can damage the finish.

Cleaning polymer clay

  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or makeup.
  • For stubborn marks, use mild soap and water, then dry immediately.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners.

Looking after gold-plated stainless steel findings

  • Wipe gently with a jewellery polishing cloth after wear to remove oils and maintain shine.
  • Avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, and lotions to prevent tarnishing.

Extra tips

  • Put your jewellery on last when getting ready, and take it off first at the end of the day.
  • Avoid bending or dropping pieces to prevent chips or breakage.
  • Resin components may naturally develop micro-scratches over time — this is normal and part of the piece’s character.
  • Your Ebb & Clay jewellery is made to be worn and loved — with these simple steps, it will continue to look as stunning as the day you received it.
